ADVANCED CRAFT APPRENTICESHIP VACANCIES

Street Crane Company Ltd has more than 70 years’ experience in crane design and is now firmly established as one of the world’s volume overhead crane and hoist manufacturers. We have a long tradition of investing in our people and we are committed to growing the talent within our organisation through our Apprentice, Junior Engineer and Graduate Programmes.

We have the following Apprentice opportunities:

1 x Electrician,   2 x Fitter

 

Our Apprenticeship Programme recruits young people and working in partnership with local colleges and training providers. Some of our best engineers and managers have come through these types of programmes. 
Initially, you will undertake a 25 week off the job training programme, followed by day release. You will have an opportunity to put into practice what you have learnt when you return to the workplace and continue to be supported by onsite assessment to enable you to achieve a BTEC.

The normal period of training is between three and four years depending on age at entry and date of starting role.

What we expect of you:

Academically - You will need to have/be expected to achieve 4 GCSE’s (Grade A-C) in Maths, English, Science and one other subject.

You will also need to be able to demonstrate that you are: -

  1. Have a keen and genuine interest in engineering
  2. Punctual and well organised, practical and logical with a desire for problem solving 
  3. Enthusiastic with a desire to listen, learn, ask questions and be prepared to take on constructive
  4. Have an ability to work well as part of a team, showing respect for others and listen to instructions from others

  • Hours of work 37 per week plus an equivalent to 25 days holiday a year plus 8 bank holidays
